ClearStand is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice. It does not represent users in any legal proceeding.

Use of ClearStand does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and ClearStand, its founders, operators, employees, or any affiliated parties. No communication through ClearStand constitutes legal advice or establishes any professional relationship.

ClearStand provides legal information — not legal advice. Legal information describes the law generally. Legal advice applies the law to your specific circumstances and can only be provided by a licensed lawyer.

ClearStand makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content for any specific legal matter.

You are solely responsible for:

  • How you use information and documents generated by ClearStand
  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of all documents before filing with any court
  • Ensuring documents comply with the rules and requirements of the court in which you are filing
  • Any decisions made in reliance on ClearStand content
  • The outcome of any legal proceeding

No Guarantee of Outcome

ClearStand makes no representations regarding the outcome of any legal proceeding. Legal outcomes depend on facts, circumstances, judicial discretion, and many factors outside ClearStand's knowledge or control.

8 — Subscription and Payment

Subscription and Payment

ClearStand offers paid subscription tiers and one-time purchase options processed through Stripe. By purchasing a subscription you agree to:

  • Pay the applicable fees for your selected plan
  • Applicable HST on all purchases (Canadian residents)
  • Automatic renewal of monthly and annual subscriptions until cancelled
  • ClearStand's refund policy as described in your account settings

All prices are in Canadian dollars.

9 — Acceptable Use

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ClearStand to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Submit false or misleading information to any court
  • Harass, threaten, or harm any other person
  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access control
  • Reverse engineer or copy any part of the platform
  • Use the platform for any commercial purpose other than your own legal matter
10 — Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property

All content, design, software, and materials on ClearStand are the intellectual property of ClearStand and its operators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any ClearStand content without express written permission.

11 — Limitation of Liability

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, ClearStand and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use ClearStand
  • Reliance on any content generated by ClearStand
  • The outcome of any legal proceeding
  • Any errors or omissions in ClearStand content
12 — Indemnification

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ClearStand and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of ClearStand or your violation of these Terms of Use.

13 — Jurisdiction

Jurisdiction

ClearStand is designed for use in Canadian jurisdictions and is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Users outside Canada use the platform at their own risk.

Any disputes arising from use of ClearStand shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

14 — Changes to These Terms

Changes to These Terms

ClearStand reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of ClearStand following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
